All our products sold via our UK channels to market (Ebay, online shop, direct to customers etc) comply with current UK GPSR regulations. We do not comply with the new EU regulations as of 13 December 2024, and therefore we do not sell into these markets.

Every product sold has a product identification sticker applied on the packaging. This may be a derivative of a larger batch, for example, we buy in bulk from our suppliers, and we create products from them, 1,000 hooks purchased, we sell in 10's, 100's etc. We retain documents supporting the sale and we can trace each product sold using its product identification back to the product purchased from the supplier (invoices where possible). We do not hold any information behind this requirement, for example, the factory or date of manufacture. This is because our suppliers will not share this information with us as it could lead to a reduction in the suppliers’ commercial advantage.

We test each purchased product against our existing stock to ensure that they comply with our quality standards, e.g. size, sharpness.

Example

We buy Koike Wide Mouth Specimen hooks from Koike (UK based supplier). We buy many 1,000s of hooks at a time. We them create products based on customer orders, for example 25 hooks. We process the order and package the order. We add our business card to the overall order, which contains our business information, company name, telephone number, email address and website. On each of the packaged products, we add a product sticker indicating what the product is. We can trace this product identification to our supplier using business records and supplier invoices. We expect our suppliers to have similar information relating to their suppliers. Under current UK regulations, we do not know of the supply chain beyond our supplier. This is unlikely to be given by our supplier and is also currently not required by UK law.
